Newsletter Project Held October 2020
Dear sponsors,
Hereby we send our Project Held newsletter of October. Worldwide we have found ourselves in a special situation because of Covid-19. The projects are also experiencing the necessary consequences. We ask for your prayers for this. Nevertheless, we also want to show you a different sound and you can read the latest news from our projects here.

Special orphans and widows service

On sunday September 27th, we organized a special orphans and widows service with the House of Heroes. The children from the children's home in Kenya, Hope4Hope, took us virtually and proudly gave us a tour of their site. Mattheus van der Steen had a powerful word about caring for orphans and widows as the key to revival. James 1:27: Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is to look after orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. During this service we had a live video connection with Rajkumar Ganta from India, in which he talked about what God is doing in India. A total of 10 new sponsors have been added! We are very grateful for this. At www.projectheld.nl you can see which children are still looking for a sponsor. Maybe something for you? It really makes a difference in a child's life! Below we present two to you. You can watch the entire service here!

Medina Krasniqic

Medina Krasniqi
Medina was born and grew up in a small town called Demjan. She lives there with her grandmother, parents, 2 sisters and brother. The situation with the family is sad. They live in a small village, quite isolated and far outside the city, which makes it difficult to go to a hospital and school, for example. Read more

Need in Kosovo:

Project Held has been working with the De Brug International Foundation in Kosovo for many years. Here we support many children and older people who often live in dire circumstances. The team distributes many food packages to poor families and elderly people. Normally, trucks with food regularly arrive from the Netherlands and then the team distribute it to the poorest. Due to the Covid-19 situation, food transports are not possible to the very poorest in Kosovo and Northern Albania. As a result, there is a food shortage for 160 poor families. Especially in the winter months these packages are so necessary! The team has the option to buy food locally, but unfortunately this costs a lot of money. The content of a food package consists of flour, oil, canned vegetables, milk and eggs. 1200 packs are needed this winter.
Your help is needed because for these vulnerable people there is no alternative! Donate a food package worth € 25, or sponsor 8 food packages (€ 200) for an entire family for the next 4 months. You can also transfer money by Paypal or by Project Held:

A wonderful testimony in India:

We received a wonderful story from Rajkumar about the girl Siri Potti, she ended up as an orphan in the Rajkumar children's home in March 2010. A month later in April she received a sponsor through Project Held. She grew up among the other children and did very well in school. She knew from an early age that she wanted to become a police officer. She will soon start with the training and it will take 4 to 5 years before she graduates. Thanks to sponsorship, Siri now has a chance for a good future and is living her dream! See a video about her life here.

Severe situation in Kenya due to Covid-19:

Due to the Covid-19 situation, schools in Kenya will be closed for the whole of 2020. According to social workers, it leads to a fourfold increase in the number of teenage pregnancies. Now that girls are no longer in school, they often disappear from sight. Not only are there more rapes, but because of poverty more girls are also having sex for money. See a video here, broadcast by RTL news about the situation in Kenya. Reggie, from project Hope4Hope with whom we work closely, wants to do something about this! Instead of the girls roaming the streets without a goal, but with all the danger that entails, he wants to give them the opportunity to participate in team sports. Many girls have now discovered football, they now put a lot of time into it. In addition, these girls are looked after, they belong somewhere and they get a free meal. We think this is a fantastic initiative!

Christmas 2020:

Christmas will probably look different, also in the country where your sponsor child lives. Even more than usual, they need to know that they are beloved and precious children of Our Heavenly Father. Also this year our desire is to give EVERY child a beautiful Christmas present and to show and experience that they are seen and that they are worthy to receive something beautiful. That is why we call on all sponsors to make a Christmas gift for their sponsor child and if your budget allows it, perhaps also a gift for a child who does not have a sponsor yet so that we can give ALL children a smile on their face at Christmas. You can transfer your Christmas gift by Paypal or by Project Held:
